Last year many of our students were deeply affected by the camp, and 647 pictures from the camp last summer can be downloaded here . I do believe we as Christians have a very important role in promoting reconciliation and friendship in the region, and therefore, we have to be good examples, and we can make a difference. This year, we expect about 70 students, and we would appreciate your prayers because this is the first Christian camp for many of these students.

Our topic this is year is No one is an island , and we want to focus on relationships, asking who is my neighbor. Here we want to use the parable of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10.

Many of you know that I am passionate about discipleship, teaching and preaching, and therefore, I'm happy that I have the chance to address the students in the evening sessions. However, I have a very good preaching team with me. Momir Blazek, the director of STEP and Zef Nikolli, the director of the Albanian student movement, BSKSh will speak to the students, and we'll also hear from Allen Belton, a former pastor from University Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Washington. Allen has been active in the civil rights movement, and he was also working with Dr. Martin Luther King. Drazen Glavas, professor of Ethics in Zagreb and Miroslav Volf, a well-known professor from Yale University will also join one evening as well.  EUS student worker, Vanja Miljevic, will be teaching in the morning sessions on emotional literacy and how this is connected to student life and Christian faith.

For those of you who have read my emails earlier, it will be no surprise when I'm writing that we wouldn't have such a blessed ministry without good student leaders. We put a lot of emphasis on leadership development, and students will also be responsible for the planning and execution of the camp. Our students will be responsible for all the practical details and the program. We in EUS have excellent student leaders to lead worship and contribute with drama. In the afternoon, our students will lead workshops where they can learn how to play the harp, learn more about singing in the Orthodox church,  artistic workshops, salsa, journalism and transition from student life to professional life to mention some of the workshops.

Last year we had police protection on the camp, but I hope this will not be needed this year. Relations between Serbia and Croatia is little better after few mutual visits of presidents of our countries.
